Primary school teacher by profession, I came to this world of craftsmanship almost by chance and thanks to the accompaniment of my friend and <strong>master knifemaker Ram\u00f3n Garc\u00eda Artiles<\/strong>, who knew how to share with me all his knowledge. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>It was at the beginning of 2017<\/strong> when I decided to leave teaching and start my own cutlery workshop with the trademark<strong> &#8220;Cuchillos Canarios El Pete&#8221;.<\/strong> I am very clear that working with a traditional craft involves a great responsibility, as it implies having in your hands a cultural and ethnographic heritage that you have to respect and pamper. What is done today with the Canarian knife is what future generations will see, it depends on the current artisans that in 50 years the Canarian knife will continue to have the international prestige it has or become just another knife in the wide diversity of the world cutlery.  <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div what makes the Canarian knife unique<\/strong>, what differentiates us from other types of knives from anywhere in the world, what makes Canarian men and women feel our knife <strong>as part of ourselves<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The balance between<strong> tradition and innovation<\/strong> is key to keeping this craft alive and giving the pieces the possibility of being used in today&#8217;s society, which is very different from when <strong>the Canarian knife<\/strong> first appeared.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The elaboration process is slow<\/strong> and requires many steps, all of them tending to perfection so that<strong> the final result is beautiful, harmonious and
